Comic strip on online sexual violence

The French hotline Point de Contact makes available to the public the comic strip "Max goes to his uncle's house" (in French: "Max va chez son oncle").

This resource depicts the situation suffered by Max: Max is a little boy who has been sexually abused by his uncle and doesn't dare tell his parents. Max's uncle films the scenes of abuse and publishes them on the internet. An internet user accidentally stumbles across one of these videos, showing that this kind of extremely serious content can be easily accessible to anyone. The comic strip underlines the importance of reacting as a witness and reporting such content immediately. This helps both to have the child abuse content removed and to identify and save the victim.

This educational resource is intended for dissemination among young people, their families, professionals, and all members of the educational community. Raising awareness about cyberviolence is a crucial component in the fight against such harmful behaviour. Reporting these cyberviolences - whether as a victim or as a witness - is a fundamental civic duty to which everyone is called to contribute.
