Casting the Net – Why Consent Matters

Youth led audio series: Casting the Net

Consent is a fundamental part of all relationships, yet historically, it has been misunderstood or overlooked in society. From outdated norms to gendered expectations, the way we talk about and understand consent has been shaped by cultural and institutional influences. The Consent Ed programme aims to change this by educating young people about the importance of consent, challenging harmful stereotypes, and fostering a culture of respect.

Molly from the Webwise Youth Panel spoke with Sianna Williams and Alex Black to learn more about the programme, why it’s needed, and how it’s helping to create positive change in schools and communities.
