This report examines internet usage and associated risks among Slovak primary and secondary school students aged 12-18, continuing a series of previous studies and expanding to new virtual threats. A questionnaire survey conducted in late 2023 with 2,641 students revealed widespread internet access (96.8%) and a notable increase in time spent online, particularly for older students and during holidays. Key activities included communication, video consumption, and social media. While students perceived their digital skills as high, parental oversight was often limited, with most having no internet time restrictions. The study highlights that despite a decrease in overall risk perception, exposure to sexual (67.3%) and violent (69.3%) content remains prevalent. Approximately 40% reported negative online experiences, but a significant 36.3% did not disclose these incidents. Concerns are raised about increased sexting, online gambling among minors, and problematic internet use. Recommendations emphasise fostering digital literacy, critical thinking, parental involvement, and robust prevention strategies for online addictions.

Methodology
This study, a continuation of research from 2018, 2019, and 2021, employed a questionnaire survey as its data collection method. The data collection took place in October and November 2023 across all regions of the Slovak Republic, facilitated by a professional data collection agency. The sample comprised 2,641 students, including those from the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades of primary schools and the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd years of all types of secondary schools, targeting an age group of 12 to 18 years. Data analysis is based primarily on descriptive statistics, presenting results as percentage shares within specific categories, disaggregated by educational level, school type, gender, age, residence size, and region.
