This study is the third short report to present preliminary results of the survey Online Conduct of Children in Bulgaria, published by the Bulgarian Safer Internet Centre. It addresses the notion of digital literacy, focusing on child participation in online activities related to both negative and positive impacts of internet usage, practices, and engagement. The report approaches children’s participation through recommendations and opportunities to support children and young people when using the internet critically. The analysis examines children's online behaviour and ICT usage in the context of children’s rights and civic participation, providing useful findings for policy-makers, organisations and parents.

Methodology
The Bulgarian Safer Internet Centre produced three short reports presenting preliminary results of the survey Online Conduct of Children in Bulgaria, the national research contribution to EU Kids Online 2016-2017. A total of 1,000 children and 1,000 parents were interviewed regarding their practices in the digital environment.
