Better Internet for Kids

In cooperation with BEE SECURE, the Luxembourgish Ministry of Education has launched an awareness campaign on "The use of screens in the family" which will run until April 2020. The aim of the campaign is to make parents aware of their role in this regard and to provide them with advice on how to use digital media responsibly in the family.

The Ukrainian state, together with non-governmental organisations, businesses, educational institutions, media and libraries, recently took part in the traditional annual Safer Internet Day (SID) celebrations, along with over 170 countries across the world.

A single anonymous report can have an incredibly huge impact. INHOPE's member hotlines have countless success stories, in which a public report has led to successful investigations into cases of child sexual abuse and in some cases, to the arrests of the offenders. Below are just a few examples.

Finland has been celebrating Safer Internet Day (SID) with a week-long awareness event called Media Literacy Week since 2013. The 2020 event brought together 1,800 organisations, put media literacy in the spotlight for over 80,000 participants through hundreds of kindergartens, schools, libraries, museums, youth centres and media companies.

On Tuesday, 11 February 2020, Croatia celebrated Safer Internet Day (SID) with a panel discussion for elementary school children, and a series of awareness sessions in schools throughout the country.

The motto of the 2020 edition of Safer Internet Day (SID) was once again "Together for a better internet". For this reason, the Czech Safer Internet Centre (SIC) decided to involve key TV and media providers in the country in some activities.

In February 2020, the Estonian Safer Internet Centre (SIC) coordinated Safer Internet Day (SID) actions in Estonia with various awareness events and the publication of thematic awareness raising materials.

The 2020 celebrations of Safer Internet Day (SID) were a huge success in Norway.

On Saturday, 1 February 2020, the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute of the Ministry of Education and Culture organised a training workshop for the members of the CYberSafety Youth Panel Cyprus, which 30 people attended.

The Portuguese Ministry of Education launched the National Plan for Preventing and Combating Bullying and Cyberbullying in October 2019. Entitled "A School Without Bullying. A School Without Violence," this plan aims to provide educational communities with a series of instruments that may help them prevent and combat these forms of violence efficiently, especially among the youngest.
