Seniors Days Online – annual ICT awareness raising campaign in Lithuania

The sixth edition of the Seniors Days Online campaign in Lithuania attracted more than 5000 participants, over 260 Lithuanian public libraries and their branches and other organisations.

National digital skills development project 'Connected Lithuania: improving digital skills' launched with the Seniors Days Online campaign thematic events aimed at older adults. The events, organised from 18 to 22 November, aimed to highlight the benefits of public e-services and showcase how they can make our daily lives easier. The safety of e-services use was also discussed.

Public libraries and other organisations across Lithuania - 260 public libraries and their branches, the M. Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania and other organisations invited their local community members to join the campaign. Four online events were organised on different topics: e-health, e-signature, e-police and electronic system for Lithuanian drivers.  

The awareness raising campaign included:

  • A broadcast with a representative of The Regulatory Authority of the Republic of Lithuania, who explained about the possibilities offered by e-signature, reliable e-signature tools and how to take care of your data security. The audience also given tips on how to be safe when signing various documents and how to ensure they are secure.  
  • An information security specialist gave advice on how to protect ourselves from online scammers who try to steal our personal data or money.  

All campaign videos are available on YouTube.  

Information about the campaign was published on various channels, such as television, radio, social media, the homepage of Lithuanian public libraries, and the project website, among others. In total, the campaign reached over 650,000 people in Lithuania.

The project 'Connected Lithuania: improving digital skills' is funded by the Economic Recovery and Resilience facility 'Next Generation Lithuania'. The project is implemented by the State Digital Solutions agency and partners - the association 'Langas į ateitį' and the M. Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania.
