The #martyisdead series and the documentary film Caught in the Net won the prestigious Czech Lion Award (Český lev). The recent announcement of the results of the 28th Czech Lion Awards brought awards for two films in which the Czech Safer Internet Centre (SIC) participated.
In the category of extraordinary achievement in the field of audio-vision, the series #martyisdead was awarded for worldwide success, while the Czech Lion for the best documentary film was awarded to the Caught in the Net project. In the case of #martyisdead, the CZ.NIC Association was a co-producer; for the Caught in the Net documentary, it is listed as a general partner.
Both film projects, in which the CZ.NIC Association participated through the Safely on the Net project, has not only collected prizes at major Czech or foreign festivals but has also been well received by the general public. Thanks to the audiovisual form, the filmmakers of the #martyisdead and Caught in the Net projects were able to present current and very serious topics related to child abuse on the internet in a compelling way.
