The Code of Good Practice on Detailed Rules for the Protection of Minors in Audiovisual On‑Demand Media Services establishes detailed technical and organizational measures that audiovisual on-demand media service providers must implement to protect minors from harmful content such as violence and pornography. The Code of Good Practice was developed by the IAB Polska Legal Group in conjunction with the National Broadcasting Council and the Ministry of Administration and Digitization.

The Influencer Marketing and Consumer Rights guidelines were developed by the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA) in 2024. Thet outline how influencers in Malta must transparently disclose commercial relationships under the Consumer Affairs Act, to prevent misleading practices and protect consumer decision-making. The guidelines align with the EU’s Unfair Commercial Practices Directive and are now embedded in Malta’s Consumer Affairs Act (Chapter 378).

Viewing Guide (Dutch Audiovisual Classification System)
The Kijkwijzer (Viewing Guide) is a self‑regulatory classification framework, overseen by the Dutch Institute for the Classification of Audiovisual Media (NICAM), that sets age ratings and content pictograms (e.g., violence, sex, coarse language) for films, broadcasters, and streaming services. It ensures consumers receive standardized, reliable guidance on audiovisual content appropriate for children. Kijkwijzer has developed seven age and seven content pictograms, including age recommendation for all ages, 6 years, 9 years, 12 years, 14 years, 16 years and 18 years.
Free and Safe Education Bill
The Free and Safe Education Act is a new bill that aims to further strengthen social safety in Dutch education. This law is expected to come into effect on 1 August 2026 and requires primary, secondary, and special education schools in the Netherlands to implement and actively maintain a social safety policy, including designated roles for bullying reporting and coordination. It also mandates schools to monitor students' perceptions of safety and well-being using valid tools to prevent and address incidents like bullying and aggression.
Advertising Code for Social Media and Influencer Marketing
The Advertising Code for Social Media & Influencer Marketing is a self-regulatory extension of the Dutch Advertising Code that ensures advertising via social media is clearly recognizable and transparent, requiring explicit disclosure of any relevant relationship between influencers and advertisers. It also prohibits deceptive practices like using fake followers or undisclosed sponsorships and mandates additional safeguards when content targets children or promotes alcohol.

Child Rights Impact Assessment (CRIA)
The Child Rights Impact Assessment (CRIA) is a tool developed by by Considerati and Leiden University on behalf of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK). The tool provides a structured assessment tool for companies and public bodies to evaluate how their digital products or services may impact children’s rights, helping to anticipate risks and design mitigations. The resource is part of a broader toolbox, alongside a planned “Children’s Rights Seal”, which is targeted at strengthening the protection of children in the digital domain.
Youth Digital Safety Volunteer Programme
The Youth Digital Safety Volunteer Programme is a peer-led youth volunteering initiative coordinated by the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth to educate children, adolescents, and families on safe, responsible digital citizenship and online behaviour.
