The National Plan to Prevent Sexual Offences and Offences against Decency Suffered by Minors (including crimes committed in cyberspace) includes six areas of action and is aimed at ensuring comprehensive and wide protection of minors (Policy and Management; Law Enforcement Agencies and the Judiciary; Support and protection of aggrieved parties and members of their families; General social prevention). The adopted plan provides for a comprehensive strengthening of the system of protection against sexual crimes, including coordinated analysis of sexual crime threats; educational programme for various social groups (e.g. youth, parents, teachers); training on recognizing the symptoms of child abuse and providing help and support; strengthening the competences and specialization of law enforcement officers, judges and prosecutors; creating a database that will facilitate the detection of prohibited content, e.g. on the Internet; comprehensive support for victims of sexual crimes and their families; strengthening therapeutic and preventive measures; activities aimed at revealing sexual crimes against children; respecting the privacy and dignity of injured parties – ensuring ethical media coverage.
