The report, It helps, but it is not enough (Det hjälper men det räcker inte), presents analyses of the relationship between online victimisation among Swedish children aged 13–18 and their guardians' financial situation, educational level, and country of origin.
The analyses further examine the relationship between online victimisation and parental mediation - that is, whether exposure is lower or higher among children whose guardians establish rules for media use and/or engage in discussions about media use with them. The findings are based on data collected for the study Children & Media between 15 October 2024 and 6 February 2025, with a specific focus on exposure to antisocial communicative behaviour in which children are subjected to harmful actions by others online.
The purpose of the report is to deepen understanding of how demographic factors relate to children's media experiences, thereby supporting efforts to strengthen young people's development as informed media users and to ensure that protective measures are designed and implemented equitably.
