Casting the net: what do teens need to know about ChatGPT?

The Irish Safer Internet Centre has added a new audio series to the Casting the net initiative. Read on to discover more about the podcasts.

There have been big steps forward in artificial intelligence over the past decade. From online shopping to streaming platforms, or using the apps on our phones – AI is already changing how we live, learn, and work. One of the AI developments that has attracted a lot of attention since it came on the scene late last year is ChatGPT. ChatGPT has had people excited about the possibilities that it may provide, but also sparking a lot of ethical concerns too.

Webwise Youth Panelist Emma discussed the benefits and the challenges posed by ChatGPT for young people, and developments in AI generally, with science and technology journalist Elaine Burke.

Casting the net is a youth-led audio series that focuses on topics that matter to teenagers, what they want to know, and how they can make the most of their time online. Access the episodes of the audio series on Webwise’s website.
