About the organisation
At the beginning of 2023, NGO “Magnolia” developed new tools in Ukraine to combat violence and abuse against children and created the portal www.stopcrime.ua. In 2024, “Magnolia” initiated the establishment of the Safer Internet Centre in Ukraine. It is a coalition of organisations that implement three key components of the European model: hotline, helpline, raising awareness and education.
In 2024, the Safer Internet Centre joined the European initiative Better Internet for Kids as part of the SIC+ programme.
Currently, the Safer Internet Centre coalition brings together seven leading and most influential civil society organisations in Ukraine dedicated to combating online violence against children.
Through its participation in the SIC+ Programme, Magnolia hopes to exchange knowledge and good practices with organisations working on child online safety around the world, learn about effective responses to emerging online risks, and strengthen its capacity in awareness-raising and research. It also hopes to gain inspiration from innovative initiatives and campaigns developed by other participants and apply these insights to strengthen online safety for children in Ukraine.
Awareness centre
The new Safer Internet Centre Ukraine platform was launched in 2025. Here, parents, teachers, law enforcement professionals, and young people can find useful resources tailored to their needs. In addition, the Safer Internet Centre organises a wide range of events and training sessions. One of our unique features is the involvement of the NGO Docudays, which hosts screenings of thematic documentary films followed by discussions on the challenges and risks children face online.
Helpline
National helpline for children and youth - 116111 NGO “La Strada-Ukraine”.
All consultations about internet safety, bullying, and discrimination in the real and virtual worlds are provided free of charge, anonymously, and confidentially. The helpline operates 24/7.
Hotline
StopCrime is Ukraine’s INHOPE hotline, launched in 2023 by the NGO Magnolia at the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. The hotline receives reports of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) online, helps identify its origin, and supports its removal.
In cooperation with the Cyber Police of Ukraine and INHOPE partners across 53 countries, StopCrime works to combat online crimes against children and make the internet safer for young people.
Youth participation
Currently, a Youth Panel is in the creation stage. Our organisation plans to create a youth platform that will allow young people to express their views and exchange knowledge and experience on how to stay protected in the online space.
