About the organisation
FIT promotes the safe and responsible use of the Internet by young people through a sustainable strategy of informing and raising awareness among parents, teachers and children themselves through various techniques, such as: lectures, workshops, online courses, brochures, reports and different modules. Our job is to help users get the most out of technology and manage the risks they face. FIT also contributes to the drafting of state policies related to these issues. FIT compiles and distributes content and materials that help teachers integrate Internet safety into teaching and learning in their schools. We also provide information, advice and recommendations for parents about their children's online lives.
Awareness centre
In Kosovo, awareness-raising on safer internet issues is currently not at an optimal level due to financial constraints. This has limited the scope of our activities aimed at promoting the benefits of internet security.
Recognising this, we believe a broader and stronger intervention is necessary. We are actively exploring strategies and partnerships to enhance our efforts. Our imminent plans include seeking additional funding to bolster our awareness campaigns.
Helpline
Helpline for children's online safety is not yet established. We are committed to such a thing happening and we work together with other organizations in this direction.
Hotline
The Child Online Safety Hotline is not yet established. We are committed to such a thing happening and we work together with other organizations in this direction.
Youth participation
In Kosovo, the youth are proactive in participating in activities and projects aimed at enhancing internet security. However, the potential for increased participation is evident, as the number of volunteers, which stood at 15 last year, could be significantly higher. We are planning to implement strategies to encourage more youth involvement in our internet safety initiatives, recognizing their crucial role in promoting a safer and better internet environment.
