Better Internet for Kids

The Latvian helpline has developed visually powerful social campaign posters about online violence to raise awareness of the risk of children experiencing online bullying, and to encourage to contact helpline specialists to receive support.

This training session on the topic of cyberbullying raises children's awareness in a fun and engaging way, helping them recognise cyberbullying and teaching them how to protect themselves and others.

Content: Children embark on a series of adventures alongside Panda Wanda. Once they successfully complete Panda Wanda's adventure and quiz, they are welcomed into the Superhero Club, where they receive and design their own superhero badge. The badge empowers them to stand up for others and help put an end to cyberbullying, just like Panda Wanda.

This series of 6 interactive videos lessons is aimed at families, teachers and educators who look after children aged 6 to 9. 

The video series teaches children 6 key messages about internet safety in a fun way. Given the format of this resource and to encourage constructive discussion, we recommend that children work through the videos accompanied by an adult.

The cyberbullying kit consists of three parts and is suitable for individuals with intellectual disabilities aged 12 and older. It is aimed at carers and other professionals who want to raise awareness on this issue.

The first part, consists of explaining cyberbullying in general and providing advice when dealing with this issue by working with illustrations and an explanatory video. Parts 2 and 3 of the kit serve to repeat the content (from part 1) in a playful way.

The training is intended to address the topic of cyberbullying and to enable professionals to adopt a practical and action-oriented approach to dealing with cyberbullying.

On the one hand, the training provides theoretical and legal foundations related to cyberbullying. On the other hand, it offers useful approaches and tools, explored through practical case examples.
