The Cyberbullying Meter is a tool created by the e-Childhood Association/3018 (part of the French Safer Internet Centre) which helps you put words to what you are experiencing online, and to know how to act accordingly thanks to three risk zones: green, orange and red.
It is primarily aimed at middle and high school students but can also be used by parents, caregivers, teachers and professionals to communicate with young people.
How to use the cyberbullying meter?
- Read the situations proposed and identify your zone.
Go through the proposed behaviours and identify the color zone (green, orange or red) in which you are located. - Ask yourself if you feel comfortable.
Listen to what you feel. If the situation makes you uncomfortable, scares you, or causes you pain, it's an important signal - don't dismiss it. - Talk to a trusted adult if you have any doubts.
A parent, a teacher, a counselor, a healthcare professional… You don't have to handle this alone. Talking is already taking action. - If you are in a red zone or if you are suffering, contact 3018 immediately.
Whether it's for yourself or to help someone else, 3018 is available 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Free, anonymous, and confidential, you can reach them by phone or chat via the 3018 app or at 3018.fr
