Bing uses complex algorithms to generate search results to match the user’s search query. To continue improving its algorithms to provide a comprehensive and relevant collection of results, in February 2023, Microsoft introduced Bing Chat (later renamed Microsoft Copilot), an artificial intelligence chatbot experience integrated directly into the search engine.

The minimum age to set up a Microsoft account is 13 (and using services such as Bing). If under 13, it is possible to access the search engine, but parental consent is required. Bing has introduced features such as SafeSearch – with various levels of content restriction filters available – and Family Safety to protect children’s navigation and search queries. Additionally, if you are using the browser Edge (where Bing is the default search engine), there is a dedicated Kids Mode.
