Held every year on 21 May, UNESCO leads the celebration of World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development highlighting not only the richness of the world’s cultures, but also the essential role of intercultural dialogue for achieving peace and sustainable development.
The day centres around recognising and understanding each other's differences, but also celebrating these and promoting peace and harmony between everyone around the world. Culture can play a huge role in that, both through celebrating our differences and understanding what we have in common with each other.
