About our SID activities
For several years, La Strada has been actively engaged in raising awareness and promoting safe online behaviours, ensuring that every child can experience a positive digital environment and effectively handle potential risks. The SigurOnline team at the International Centre "La Strada" regularly organises initiatives focused on enhancing the safety of children and adolescents on the Internet.
The Safer Internet Day (SID) 2025 campaign will be conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of education and research (MEC), the General police inspectorate (IGP), and other relevant authorities. The campaign aims to challenge and dismantle existing stereotypes and prejudices surrounding the viewing, distribution, and production of child sexual abuse materials (CSAM), while also fostering a responsible and proactive approach to reporting such content to the appropriate authorities and services. The central message of the campaign is "Let’s talk about CSAM." The primary target groups include the general public, the media, the educational community, children and youth, and parents.
As part of the SID 2025 campaign, five vox populi videos will be produced, addressing what constitutes child sexual abuse material and the illegality of actions related to such content. These videos will be aimed at the general public and will be shared on the official pages and social media accounts of the International centre "La Strada" and its partners. Vox populi interviews involve gathering spontaneous opinions from members of the public, typically in public spaces, with no specific selection process.
The campaign will officially launch with the Press club "Let’s talk about CSAM," which will focus on trends in children’s online behaviours. During the event, the results of the 2024 study on the online safety of vulnerable children will be presented, along with the latest data from the www.siguronline.md, highlighting the behaviours and risks children encounter online. Vox populi videos will be showcased to stimulate discussion around the stereotypes related to the viewing, distribution, and possession of CSAM.
Additionally, La Strada will organise webinars for educators, create new teaching resources on topics related to online child sexual abuse, and host activities with children and youth to promote online safety. A youth contest focused on online safety will also be held in the form of an Ideathon, where adolescents will propose solutions to a specific issue.
What we are doing to create a better internet...
Through partnerships with local schools, government bodies, and other NGOs, we engage in a wide range of activities, including workshops, seminars, social media campaigns, and collaborative projects. Additionally, we prioritise creating a positive and inclusive digital environment, where technology is used in ways that enhance learning, creativity, and communication. Safer Internet Day is not only a time for reflection on the challenges we face but also an opportunity to showcase the progress and efforts being made to promote a safer internet for all users, especially children and young people.
Through the commitment and collaboration of various actors in the Republic of Moldova, we continue to drive meaningful change and work towards achieving a more positive, inclusive, and safer online space for future generations.
About us
Every year, on Safer Internet Day, educational institutions, NGOs, and various stakeholders come together globally to raise awareness about the importance of online safety for children and young people. This day serves as a reminder of the shared responsibility to create a safer, more responsible digital world for everyone.
As the National Safer Internet Day (SID) Committee in Moldova, La Strada Moldova plays a pivotal role in coordinating and promoting the international initiative in the country. Through this platform, La Strada Moldova leads various campaigns, events, and outreach activities aimed at fostering a culture of online safety. With the slogan "Together for a better internet," the campaign encourages individuals, schools, parents, and organizations to take active steps toward ensuring the well-being of children and young people online.
Our mission extends beyond raising awareness; we work to promote responsible internet usage by providing resources, educational materials, and guidance on navigating the online world safely. This involves educating children about potential online risks, equipping parents and educators with the tools to guide their children’s online behavior, and advocating for the implementation of better policies that protect online privacy and security.
