31% of 11-18 year olds have been exposed to racist content on their networks and 25% to hate speech related to religion. Incitement to hatred, violence or racial discrimination is an offence punishable by law.

InfoHunter - Online Hate Speech is a middle/high school interactive resource on online hate speech, to learn how to recognise and decipher online racial hate speech. Based on an explanatory video, this course helps teenagers acquire the right reflexes to recognise online hate speech and decipher the mechanisms on which it is based.

The video spot was created especially for the project, showing the struggle a cyberbullying victim goes through every day at school and at home. The video can be easily adapted as there is no dialog, just a powerful message at the end. The main character is a girl coming from an ethnic minority.

The reporting platform Point de Contact has published its 2021 annual report on the volume of reports received and processed as well as on the trends observed in cybercrime. This report is also an opportunity to highlight the work carried out throughout the year 2021.
Here are some key figures: 81,416 URLs received in 2021 (+35% compared to2020), 21,109 URLs qualified as sexual exploitation of minors (+78% compared to 2020) and 20,330 URLs were forwarded to law enforcement authorities (+116% compared to 2020).

Children are following such content and very much interested in watching these channels to learn new gaming skills, key principals of definite games etc. However, children's parents should be aware of risks and content being broadcasted that their children are watching.

Do parents know and monitor how much time their children spend on the Internet per week? In order to find good balance between time child spends online and offline Latvian SIC created digital leaflet of tasks for children. Parents can print out the poster and use it at home to put into practice in order set screen time limits for their child daily or weekly. When all the set tasks are completed, child can get screen time. Parents depending on how old is child and what are his/her priorities can decide how much screen time is optimal.

How much time does the child spend on the Internet per week? In order for the child to control himself and learn to plan time he spends online and offline the worksheet ‘My screen time' will be useful for children of primary school age for keeping track of their screen time and online activities.
