Bullying and cyberbullying—bullying that occurs online or via digital devices—are issues of ongoing relevance, and the school setting plays a particularly important role in them.

The purpose of this guide is to support you, as a teacher, in dealing with bullying situations at your school. The focus is on informing you about the characteristic features of bullying and cyberbullying, raising your awareness of possible signs, and showing you appropriate approaches for handling bullying situations as well as helpful resources. You also have the opportunity to map out the dynamics of the bullying process and the individual roles in your class in a diagram.

Through four classroom projects for grades 5 through 8, students will also learn how to recognise bullying early on, what dynamics bullying creates, and how the class community can work together to address it.
