Digital event on children’s rights online in Sweden for Safer Internet Day 2023
On the occasion of Safer Internet Day 2023, the Swedish Safer Internet Centre highlighted the digital reality of children and young people today and, based on the Convention on the Rights of the Child, looked at how you can successfully work to promote their rights in the place where a large part of their daily lives takes place. The aim was to provide increased knowledge to guardians and professionals who address children and young people as part of their work.

The internet is very popular with everyone, and in particular with the younger generation. It offers an array of opportunities; from doing online research, to following news and for entertainment. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, it was an essential tool for communication, on several occasions it was the only way that children could keep in touch with their peers and families.

Exploring the ySKILLS indicator with high school students: a co-joint initiative with a Portuguese policy maker
High school students’ answers to a flash quiz suggest knowledge gaps regarding social networks and searching for information. This event occurred in the two Portuguese main fairs on education, work, and training. It was co-organised with the Portuguese Institute for Sports and Youth and actively involved young volunteers. Further collaboration with national stakeholders, young ambassadors and informal spaces could improve working digital skills in adolescents.

DigiGen project comes to an end after three years of research
It's a wrap for DigiGen! This European research project aimed to develop significant knowledge about how children and young people, a group growing up today which is often referred to as the "Digital Generation", use and are affected by the technological transformations in their everyday lives. After three years of research, the project has now concluded.

Safer Internet Forum 2022 took place in a hybrid format in Brussels, Belgium and online on Thursday, 27 October this year. This year’s edition was extra special, because it was a youth-led event, with young people playing an active role in the planning, preparation, and delivery of the forum. New cyberbullying guidance hub for teachers and school leaders in Ireland
A new Cyberbullying Guidance for Teachers Information Hub has been created by Webwise. The Hub offers guidance to teachers and school leaders on the issue of cyberbullying, creating an anti-cyberbullying culture and promoting student’s wellbeing including online wellbeing.
