Training workshop for CYberSafety Υouth Panel Cyprus
On Saturday, 1 February 2020, the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute of the Ministry of Education and Culture organised a training workshop for the members of the CYberSafety Youth Panel Cyprus, which 30 people attended.
Massive Open Online Course - "Bullying and Cyberbullying: Prevent & Act"
The Portuguese Ministry of Education launched the National Plan for Preventing and Combating Bullying and Cyberbullying in October 2019. Entitled "A School Without Bullying. A School Without Violence," this plan aims to provide educational communities with a series of instruments that may help them prevent and combat these forms of violence efficiently, especially among the youngest.
Safer Internet Day 2020 in Poland – The power of local involvement
On Tuesday, 11 February 2020, Poland managed to beat its 2019 record number of local initiatives organised on Safer Internet Day (SID). The SID 2020 campaign has resulted in 4,600 institutions actively involved in undertaking online safety-related initiatives. Nearly 900,000 children, youth, parents and teachers participated in SID actions throughout the country.
Safer Internet Day 2020 activities in Malta
Safer Internet Day (SID) has become a landmark event in the Maltese online safety calendar. Through the BeSmartOnline! project, the Maltese Safer Internet Centre (SIC) strives to empower and protect children and young people from risks associated with online activity. The aim is to ensure access to a safe online environment and inspire a national discussion about using technology responsibly, respectfully and creatively.
"Caught in the net": Safer Internet Day 2020 event in Latvia
On Tuesday, 11 February 2020, Latvia celebrated Safer Internet Day (SID), an international observance in which everybody is invited to reflect on the importance of online safety and how we can contribute to a better internet for children and young people. Release of Dutch online safety lesson materials for Safer Internet Day 2020
For the 2020 edition of Safer Internet Day (SID), the Dutch Safer Internet Centre (SIC) relied more importantly on collaboration with partner organisations, resulting in two main events: the European Youth Day with Europol and the Dutch helpline; and the official launch of new lesson material with Google and one of the SIC's partners. The Dutch SIC also published a press release on a research they conducted, looking at the way parents and children react in case of online emergency.
INHOPE #reportit – Where your reports go
When you report something to a hotline in your country you may wonder what impact this has. In the majority of cases, the INHOPE member hotlines work both indirectly and directly with law enforcement officials and internet service providers. This means that when you report content you believe to contain child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to your local hotline, this information will be passed to the police who do have the power to investigate the crime that is being committed. In some instances, the hotline can even report the content to the internet service provider and have the content removed directly from the internet.
Microsoft Portugal organises Safer Internet Day 2020 workshops
Microsoft Portugal is part of the consortium of organisations within the Portuguese Safer Internet Centre (SIC). For Safer Internet Day (SID) 2020, Microsoft Portugal joined efforts with the GNR (Guarda Nacional Republicana) and NOS to promote awareness raising and training actions on the correct and safe use of the internet, ensuring that students know the main rules to safeguard their safety as internet users.
