The MYRA Monitor Primair Onderwijs 2023 provides an overview of the status and implementation of digitalisation in Dutch primary education. Commissioned by Kennisnet and the PO-Raad, the report investigates how primary school leaders, teachers, and ICT coordinators evaluate the integration of digital technology in schooling. It tracks key developments across educational infrastructure, digital literacy, privacy and security measures, and the professionalisation of teaching staff. While schools continue to expand their digital capabilities and technical provision, the report identifies ongoing challenges in systematically embedding digital literacy into curricula and ensuring a sustainable digital vision and policy.
Methodology
The study used a representative, quantitative survey design administered to key educational stakeholders in Dutch primary schools (including school directors, ICT coordinators, and teachers) during early 2023. The data collection was carried out by the research agency Kantar Public on behalf of Stichting Kennisnet and the PO-Raad. Statistical weighting was applied to ensure the sample reflected the national distribution of primary school sizes, regions, and denominations across the Netherlands.
