This website showcases the numerous events and activities taking place worldwide to commemorate Safer Internet Day. SID celebrations take place in February 2026, with the global day of focus on Tuesday, 10 February 2026.

Safer Internet Day is celebrated around the world in February of each year, with Safer Internet Centres, Safer Internet Day Committees and other promoters in each of the countries coming together to plan and organise events.

Safer Internet Day celebrations in Slovenia
Slovenian Safer Internet Centre 25 March 2026

The main theme of Safer Internet Day in Slovenia, "Young consumers on the internet," was based on findings from workshops conducted by the Safe.si awareness centre in primary and secondary schools. It was found that teenagers are very active in shopping online, either with their parents or caregivers, or independently, but are unaware of the associated risks.

Speaking at the conference, which was also attended by the Minister of Information and Telecommunications, Boris Bratina, and the Coordinator of the National Contact Center for Child Online Safety, Emina Beković, Prime Minister Macut stressed the importance of joint action. He highlighted that parents, caregivers, teachers, educators, institutions, and children themselves must work together, as only through a collective effort we can create a better and safer internet for everyone.
