About our SID activities
For Safer Internet Day 2025, Cyber Island will be organising a series of activities to raise awareness of online safety, cybersecurity and digital resilience. Planned events will include workshops and educational sessions, to engage young people and the wider community in understanding the importance of online safety and responsible behaviour.
Through our events, Cyber Island will continue to advocate digital literacy, safe online practices and ethical online behaviour, ensuring that islands like Madagascar contribute to a global vision of a safer and more secure online world.
What we are doing to create a better internet...
At Cyber Island, we are committed to creating a safer internet by educating individuals, especially young people, and equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate the digital world responsibly. Through awareness campaigns, educational programmes and practical cybersecurity challenges, we champion a culture of online safety that extends to both personal behaviour and institutional practices.
We believe that a better internet starts with individuals taking charge of their digital presence and understanding the importance of protecting their privacy and data. Through collaboration with local and international organisations, we ensure that everyone, particularly in under-served and under-represented regions, has access to the resources and knowledge they need to stay safe online.
Through our events such as Safer Internet Day, we advocate responsible digital citizenship and encourage all stakeholders to work together to build a more resilient, ethical and secure digital environment for future generations.
About us
Cyber Island is a non-profit association committed to promoting a safer and more resilient digital environment. We strive to provide equitable access to cybersecurity education and raise awareness of responsible online behaviour. Our mission is to empower young people, especially those living in geographically isolated areas, to excel in the field of cybersecurity and contribute to a safer global internet.
We run initiatives focused on training, capacity building and support for authorities in combating cybercrime. We also aim to promote international collaboration, raise awareness of ethical online behaviour, and advocate policies that protect data privacy and promote digital literacy.
Cyber Island plays an active role by hosting events such as the BSides Madagascar conference, and organising cybersecurity workshops and competitions. Our initiatives have reached thousands of people, with a focus on providing high-quality educational resources for schools, university programs and other community initiatives.
