About our SID activities
On 11 February, a conference for teachers, "Experience AI", will be organised. Motivational speakers will share fascinating stories about our perceptions, emotions, values, attitudes and knowledge when confronted with the new, the unknown, and sometimes even scary.
Also, a set of useful materials and ideas for activities will be provided to schools to celebrate Safer Internet Day:
- QR code game - everyone gets involved!
- Digital footprint activity for the youngest internet users.
- Educational material and test about digital safety "The brain is looking for an owner".
- "Pupil educates pupil" presentations. On Safer Internet Day, pupils are invited to visit younger schoolmates to discuss and explore together the importance of thinking about their digital footprint.
Schools, libraries, and youth centres are invited to register on an online map their own SID celebration events.
About us
The main tasks of the Latvian Safer Internet Centre are - to educate, inform and raise awareness in society, but especially to children, about safer use of the internet and to provide an opportunity to report breaches and illegal content on the internet to our hotline via www.drossinternets.lv website and provide professional consultations with psychologists via our helpline 116111.
The work of the Latvian Safer Internet Center is ensured by three partners - the Latvian Internet Association, The Children Protection Centre, and The Local Governments Training Centre.
The Latvian Safer Internet Centre receives funding from the EU's Digital Europe programme and is supported by The Ministry of Smart Administration and Regional Development, the Ministry of Defence, and the Cyber Incidents Response Institution.
