Latvian Safer Internet Centre

Profile last updated: December 2025

About our SID activities

On 10 February, an educational conference for teachers, librarians and students, "Dialogue with Artificial Intelligence" will be organised. Famous people in Latvia - an actor, a politician, a journalist, an athlete, and a creator of digital content will compete with artificial intelligence programmes in the Turing test. Participants of the conference will have to guess which answer was provided by a real person and which by AI.

In the second part of the conference, we will share information about the latest activities of the "Experience AI" programme and involve conference participants (both teachers and students) in discussions about the guidelines developed in 2025 for the use of artificial intelligence in primary and general secondary education.

Also, a set of useful materials and ideas for activities will be provided to schools to celebrate Safer Internet Day:

  • Doodling activity - to reflect on stories based on media literacy skills;
  • Tasks and activities from the "Be Internet Awesome" programme;
  • "Pupil educates pupil" presentations. On Safer Internet Day, pupils are invited to visit younger schoolmates to discuss and explore together the importance of thinking about their digital footprint;
  • Schools, libraries, and youth centres are invited to register their own SID celebration events on an online map.
