About our SID activities

The Spanish National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE), an entity dependent on the Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service, through the State Secretariat for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures, has organised a programme of activities in online and in-person format to mark Safer Internet Day 2025, which will take place on February 11 at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV).
The program will begin at 10 a.m., from the UPV Nexus building and can be followed live on the website www.incibe.es/eventos/sid.
As part of the organised activities, students from educational centres throughout Spain will be able to follow, live, an interactive educational workshop created together with the National Institute of Educational Technologies and Teacher Training (INTEF). Under the title “Think, connect and choose your path on the Internet”, intelligent decision-making will be addressed in the face of cyberbullying, harmful content or viral challenges, through various cases that will make them decide and learn the associated consequences.

This workshop does not require prior registration, only that teachers connect from the classrooms a little before 10.30 a.m. to the website www.incibe.es/eventos/sid and follow the live broadcast.
In addition to the educational workshop, the day will have three debate spaces, “Youth asks”, where young members of the Children's Platform will interview representatives of various digital service operators about the steps to take to achieve balance in the digital space.
In addition, the talk “017, the cybersecurity first aid kit” will be given by INCIBE's Your Help in Cybersecurity service and the prizes of the third edition of the contest “What is 017 for you?” will be awarded.
You can follow the activities at www.incibe.es/eventos/sid.
ABOUT THE LAST EDITION, SID2024
In the last edition of SID, on 6 February 2024, around 3,000 schools and more than 60,000 pupils participated in the free online workshops, developed in collaboration with the National Institute of Educational Technologies and Teacher Training (INTEF).
Our objective with these actions was to create a better internet for everyone where students are aware of the need to make safe and responsible use of the internet through the development of various activities such as online workshops, educational activities or contests related to the service.
The event was held both in person and online. The in-person activities were in Madrid, where cybersecurity experts, government representatives and members of civil society met to address current and future challenges related to cybersecurity. In addition, the event was attended by Her Majesty the Queen, who chaired the opening session and visited the #ExperienciaINCIBE stand and in-person information point for the 'your help in cybersecurity' service.
The programme included talks, workshops, and other dynamic actions, and six online workshops were also held at educational centres.
- Online workshop 'Respect and responsibility on the internet' (from 6 to 8 years old)
- Online workshop 'Protect your devices: learn how to make secure settings' (from 9 to 12 years old)
- Online workshop 'Guardians of the digital environment: learn to protect yourself against viruses and fraud' (from 13 years old)
Find all the information about the event here.
INCIBE and IS4K promoted the event and asked their followers on X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, Instagram and YouTube to join SID 2024 with the hashtags #SID2024 and #DíaDeInternetSegura.
Moreover, the SIC-Spain project partners contributed to the dissemination and impact of SID, by carrying out awareness-raising activities about their participation in the celebrations.
What we are doing to create a better internet...
For Safer Internet Day 2025, the Spanish National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE), through the Spanish Safer Internet Centre 'Internet Segura for Kids (IS4K)', will organise celebrations and learning activities around 11 February, under the general motto 'Together for a better internet', especially focused on the development of cybersecurity and online safety digital skills for the appropriate growth and development of children on the digital environment.
About us
Internet Segura for Kids (IS4K) is the Safer Internet Centre (SIC) of Spain, with the purpose of fostering a safe and responsible use of the internet and technology among children and teenagers. Its main goals are:
- Raising awareness and training minors, young people, families, educators and professionals working with minors, through the development of national campaigns, initiatives and programmes.
- Offering a helpline service to advise and assist minors, families, educators and professionals working with minors on how to face risks on the internet: harmful contents, dangerous contacts and inappropriate behaviours.
- Organising Safer Internet Day (SID) in Spain.
- Boosting the Spanish Youth Panel to show how children and adolescents can help in creating a safer internet through cyber security and the responsible use of the network, looking for positive opportunities to create, participate and share useful content for everyone.
- Operating a Hotline, in order to reduce the availability of criminal content on the internet, mainly related to child abuse, giving support to law enforcement agencies.
IS4K is led by the Spanish National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE, as per the Spanish acronym). Since 2024, INCIBE also leads and coordinates the SIC-SPAIN 4.0 project in collaboration with other Spanish reference entities, which also contribute to disseminate the SID program of activities. This project is co-financed by the European Union (EU) through the financing programme Digital Europe.
