About our SID activities

For Safer Internet Day 2026, the Icelandic SIC is:

  • Having an open online educational meeting, aimed at parents, about a new toolbox for parents to increase their children´s online safety.
  • Having an event in cooperation with the University of Iceland, School of Education, presenting new research outcomes from Children and Online Media. 

What we are doing to create a better internet...

We strive to educate the public about online child safety and media - and information literacy. We work closely with various stakeholders to promote social safety online. 

About us

The Safer Internet Centre in Iceland (Netvís) is, since January 2024, comprised of the cooperation between Netvís under the auspices of the Media Commission (Awareness centre and media literacy education/training), the Red Cross (Helpline) and the National Police (Hotline).
