YODET- Technology for humanity

Profile last updated: February 2026

About our SID activities

For Safer Internet Day 2026, YODET is launching a multi-faceted campaign designed to foster a more secure, inclusive, and empowering digital environment in Yemen. Our activities focus on bridging the digital divide while equipping the next generation with the tools to navigate the online world safely. Our 2026 program includes:

  • Social Media Campaign: We are launching a nationwide awareness initiative across all major platforms. This
campaign will feature localized content, including infographics and short videos, focused on digital rights,
privacy protection, and the importance of critical thinking in the age of AI and misinformation.
  • Workshops for Schools and Universities: Recognizing that students are at the forefront of digital adoption, we
are hosting interactive workshops at educational institutions. These sessions are tailored to help young people
recognize online risks such as cyberbullying and phishing, while encouraging them to use technology for
    positive social impact and innovation.
  • Digital Security Trainings: To provide deeper technical knowledge, we are conducting specialized training
sessions for activists, students, and young professionals. These trainings will cover essential practices such as
end-to-end encryption, secure account management, and protecting personal data from emerging digital threats.

What we are doing to create a better internet...

At YODET, we believe that a "better internet" is one where technology serves as a bridge, not a barrier. In line with the Safer Internet Day slogan, "Together for a better internet," we are committed to building a digital ecosystem in Yemen that is inclusive, secure, and human-centric.

Our approach is rooted in the belief that digital safety is a shared responsibility. We work alongside educators, parents, and young innovators to transform the internet from a space of potential risk into a platform for creativity and empowerment. By providing localized digital security training and promoting digital rights, we empower Yemeni youth to navigate the web with confidence and resilience.

From teaching young children the fundamentals of safe coding to helping university students defend against cyberbullying, our goal is to ensure that the internet remains an open, reliable, and positive resource. By fostering a culture of responsibility and technical literacy, we are working to ensure that technology truly serves humanity, creating a safer digital future for the next generation.
