Safer Internet Centre Slovakia

About our SID activities

We are addressing schools in order to respond creatively to our motto for 2026: Together in an online world. In this call, we want children to show us how they spend their time with parents/carers in the digital environment. We also encourage them to show us how they could spend time with adults online if they could. To make adults willing to spend time online with children, we ask children to show them (to show us) what importance the online world has for them, why they find it important to spend time there, and what benefits it could bring. We are looking forward to answers. All information is provided here.

What we are doing to create a better internet...

The whole Safer Internet Day is not just about the call. At the beginning of February, we will organise the conference Child Safety in the Digital Environment for the fourth time, connecting people from academia with practitioners from schools, families, social services, NGOs, and others. We are happy to stress the cooperation with our Czech Safer Internet Centre (SIC) partner there, as one of the keynote speakers is their cooperator, and one of the research studies will present the fruits of the common research between the Czech and Slovak SICs. Then, we (digiQ) are having a call for our volunteers, motivating them to visit as many schools as possible with the aim of providing information about online safety. Moreover, there will be many actions associated with SID in schools, organised by other stakeholders.

About us

The Safer Internet Day activities are organised in cooperation between three partners - Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic, digiQ, and National Helpline Viac ako ni(c)k. Also, all partners conduct their own activities. The main activity is a call for action for schools described in detail above.
