About our SID activities
On the occasion of Safer Internet Day (SID) 2026, the Polish SIC (PSIC) will organise a hybrid conference at the POLIN Museum in Warsaw. The conference serves as the focal point of the Polish SID campaign. Nearly 500 teachers, professionals working with children, media representatives, and key stakeholders are expected to attend the event in person, with many more participating online, making it the largest annual event on children’s online safety in Poland.
The agenda will feature six TEDx-style presentations by recognised experts in media education, online trends, and the prevention of online threats to children and adolescents. Additionally, PSIC has prepared several dozen online lessons for schools and webinars for professionals as part of the SID celebrations. It is estimated that around 200,000 students and several thousand professionals will participate in these activities.
As in previous years, local educational and cultural institutions—schools, community centres, non-governmental organisations, as well as companies and individuals—are encouraged to support the initiative by organising local activities for the safety of young internet users. These activities include educational programmes, happenings, information campaigns, and competitions. Each year, several thousand institutions participate in local SID initiatives, engaging approximately 1.5 million children and young people. A competition for the most innovative initiative has been organised for local SID participants.
The SID celebrations will also be accompanied by a media campaign conducted by PSIC and local SID organisers. Each year, thousands of pieces of information about SID are published in both online and traditional media. The event continues to attract increasing media attention, underscoring the importance of the issues it addresses. To further strengthen the impact of the SID celebrations nationwide, the Polish SIC plans to invite the Ministry of Digital Affairs, the Ministry of National Education, and the Children’s Rights Ombudsman to take honorary patronage of SID 2026. The main partner of the event will be the Orange Foundation.
All promotional and educational resources, including registration for online lessons and webinars for professionals, are available at www.dbi.pl.
What we are doing to create a better internet...
All activities for SID 2026 will take place under the slogan: „Dzień Bezpiecznego Internetu: Działajmy razem!” ("Safer Internet Day: Together for a Better Internet!"). During the upcoming 22nd edition of the event in Poland, we aim to encourage everyone to actively participate in co-creating a creative and safe online environment. The idea of SID is to emphasise the power of collaboration in promoting digital safety—both internationally and locally—by involving many institutions and the family, the child’s closest environment.
The SID organisers have invited schools, community centres, non-governmental organisations, private companies, media, and other institutions to actively participate in SID 2026 celebrations. Participants are encouraged to organise local initiatives that promote internet safety among children, young people, and parents.
These can take various forms, such as conferences, lectures, workshops, discussions, picnics, or performances.
Local initiatives can be registered until the end of March 2026 using the form available on the official SID website (www.dbi.pl). Additionally, a competition with prizes has been organised for local SID campaign organisers. We anticipate the participation of several thousand institutions and the engagement of approximately 2 million children and young people.
