About our SID activities
This year, Fundación Vida Segura will carry out a national media tour across radio, television, print, and digital media to raise awareness about the opportunities and risks associated with the use of artificial intelligence by children and adolescents. Through expert interviews and educational segments, we will address key topics such as:
- How AI-generated content can influence opinions and behaviours.
- Recognising bias, misinformation, and manipulation in AI systems.
- Protecting privacy and personal data when using AI-powered tools.
- The risks of overreliance on technology and the importance of human judgment.
Alongside this, we will launch a social media awareness campaign focused on the safe and responsible use of AI. Through educational posts, short videos, and practical resources, we will help families and educators understand how AI works, how it impacts young users, and how to guide children and adolescents toward conscious, ethical, and balanced technology use.
What we are doing to create a better internet...
Our Safer Internet Day actions are reinforced through our core programmes, now incorporating AI literacy and responsible use as key components:
- Ciber Ruta: An itinerant classroom programme that brings digital safety, cybersecurity, and responsible technology use directly to schools and communities. Ciber Ruta includes age-appropriate education on artificial intelligence, helping students understand how AI tools work, how to question AI-generated content, and how to make safe choices online.
- Ciber Guías: A youth volunteer programme focused on digital rights, online safety, and peer-to-peer education. Through Ciber Guías, adolescents learn about ethical AI use and become ambassadors of responsible technology practices within their schools and communities.
- Digital Parenting Workshops (Crianza Digital): Workshops for parents and caregivers that provide guidance on artificial intelligence, helping adults understand the tools their children use, set healthy boundaries, and foster open, trust-based conversations about AI, privacy, and digital well-being.
- Digital Literacy for Older Adults: A programme promoting digital literacy and inclusion, also a safe technology use among older adults, with a focus on understanding AI-powered applications, avoiding online scams, and protecting personal information in an increasingly automated digital environment.
- Advocacy and commitment: As advocates for the prevention of digital violence, Fundación Vida Segura addresses how AI can amplify risks such as grooming, cyberbullying, sextortion, and exposure to harmful content. We emphasise education as the most effective prevention tool, empowering families, educators, and communities to respond proactively to emerging digital challenges.
Safer Internet Day 2026 is an opportunity to reflect on how artificial intelligence is shaping our lives and how we can ensure that technology serves people—not the other way around. At Fundación Vida Segura, we reaffirm our commitment to education, awareness, and collaboration to build a safer, more inclusive, and ethical digital environment.
