New Zealand Safer Internet Day Committee - Netsafe

Profile last updated: January 2026

About our SID activities

For us, Safer Internet Day (SID) is not just one day a year; it represents our everyday commitment to creating a safer online environment. We use SID as a moment to spark conversations, share practical tips and resources, and encourage positive online behaviour that continues well beyond the day itself.

Netsafe’s website hosts a wide range of resources designed to support safer online experiences for everyone in Aotearoa New Zealand. This includes resources for educators, parent and caregiver guides, toolkits for moderators and community managers, and age-appropriate support for children and young people, alongside advice and support for responding to online harm.

What we are doing to create a better internet...

Netsafe creates practical, up-to-date resources to support people across Aotearoa New Zealand to navigate the online world safely and confidently. Our work supports people of all ages, from young people and whānau to educators, community groups, and organisations, helping to build safer, more respectful online spaces for everyone.

About us

Netsafe is the proud host of Safer Internet Day in Aotearoa New Zealand. On Tuesday, 10 February 2026, we will join more than 180 countries worldwide to work "Together for a better internet".

Netsafe is an independent, non-profit organisation supporting people across Aotearoa New Zealand to have safe and positive online experiences. We support people of all ages by providing free advice, education, and practical help to address online harm and build digital confidence.
