Dutch Safer Internet Day Committee

Profile last updated: January 2026

About our SID activities

A stakeholder conference will be held on 10 February 2026 to celebrate the worldwide Safer Internet Day. This conference is organised by the Dutch Safer Internet Centre (Offlimits, ECP and Netwerk Mediawijshied), partnering with UNICEF Nederland, Mind US and the Municipality of Amsterdam. The theme of the conference is "harmful but lawful content", where we will touch upon the legal and ethical aspects of the topic, as well as AI, gaming and the impact on the mental health and well-being of young people.

During this conference, experts and professionals from various sectors, both in the Netherlands and abroad, will come together to reflect on the impact of this type of content and to jointly explore sustainable solutions.

About us

The Safer Internet Centre the Netherlands is a cooperation of three organisations: Netwerk Mediawijsheid, ECP Platform for the Information Society and Offlimits. Together, we work towards a safer internet for children. Netwerk mediawijsheid is responsible for awareness on media literacy, ECP is responsible for awareness on cybersecurity through its platform Veilig Internetten, and Offlimits is responsible for both hotline and helpline, and also acts as the coordinator of the Safer Internet Centre.
