Fundación Vida Segura - Panama Safer Internet Day Committee

Profile last updated: February 2025

About our SID activities

At Fundación Vida Segura, we join the celebration of Safer Internet Day with a series of activities aimed at raising awareness about the importance of digital security and the prevention of online violence. As an organisation committed to protecting children, adolescents, and their families in the digital environment, we will carry out a media tour to educate the community about the main risks on the internet and how to prevent them. During this tour, we will share key information through interviews with various media outlets, providing practical advice and highlighting the importance of digital education as a fundamental tool for prevention.

Additionally, we will launch a social media awareness campaign featuring educational content, prevention messages, and resources to help families and educators understand the challenges of the digital world and how to address them effectively. Through posts, videos, and testimonials, we will emphasise the need to promote the responsible and safe use of technology, fostering a culture of respect, empathy, and online protection.

As part of our mission, we take on the role of advocates for the prevention of digital violence, speaking out about issues such as grooming, cyberbullying, sextortion, and children’s exposure to inappropriate content. Our commitment is to continue working towards a safer internet for everyone, providing society with the tools and knowledge needed to protect themselves and those who need it most.

Safer Internet Day is an opportunity to reflect on the impact of technology on our lives and how we can build a safer, more inclusive, and positive digital environment. At Fundación Vida Segura, we reaffirm our commitment to educating, supporting, and promoting actions that contribute to the safety and well-being of children and their families in the digital world.

What we are doing to create a better internet...

At Fundación Vida Segura, we believe that creating a better internet is a shared responsibility. This Safer Internet Day, under the theme 'Together for a better internet,' we are taking action to promote a safer and more responsible digital environment for children, adolescents, families, and educators.

Our commitment includes a media tour where we will share expert insights on digital risks and how to prevent them, ensuring that more people have access to essential online safety knowledge. Through our social media awareness campaign, we will provide valuable resources, tips, and real-life experiences to foster responsible digital citizenship.

As advocates for the prevention of digital violence, we raise awareness about online threats such as grooming, cyberbullying, and sextortion, empowering families and educators with the tools they need to protect children and teens.

At Fundación Vida Segura, we work every day to make the internet a safer place. By educating, raising awareness, and fostering collaboration, we contribute to a digital world where everyone - especially the youngest users - can navigate safely and responsibly. Together, we can build a better internet.
