| | | | | Safer Internet Day is here! | | The month of Safer Internet Day celebrations is now in full swing, with the global day of focus taking place tomorrow, Tuesday, 10 February 2026. Wishing you all great success with your activities!
[NEW, FOR INFORMATION AND ACTION] On the day! As always, there will be lots of actions and activities tomorrow. Of particular note will be the adoption of the EU Action plan against cyberbullying. Keep an eye on EC and BIK channels tomorrow for the latest news and updates on this. As shown above, our SID mascot, Ally, will embark on a journey to combat cyberbullying in this edition. On the BIK portal, new materials and interactive quizzes will be released in the BIK Learning corners to support teachers and educators, parents and caregivers, and children and young people. We'll also be publishing the BIK Annual Review 2025, providing an overview of all the great work being done across Europe to keep children and young people safe online. Stay tuned to our channels on LinkedIn, Facebook, and X for the latest updates, and follow the hashtags #SaferInternetDay and #SID2026 to see what's happening around the globe! [REMINDER, FOR INFORMATION AND ACTION]SID assets Download the SID 2026 promo pack to support your promotional activities. Additional assets are also available from the About Safer Internet Day page of the public site. [REMINDER, FOR INFORMATION AND ACTION]Translating the SID video The SID video is currently available in English with subtitle translations in nine languages. If you would like to translate the video into your language and promote it through your respective channels, please contact the SID helpdesk. [REMINDER, FOR INFORMATION]Reporting on SID 2026 actions As last year, reporting for Safer Internet Day will now be conducted through the BIK community and aligned with the tools used for assessment platform uploads. The form for Safer Internet Day 2026 submissions is now open; all submissions are due by the close of business on Tuesday, 10 March 2026, to allow for network-level reporting to the European Commission. This year, we are also providing a SID template submission for offline population and upload - download the SID 2026 template here. Please note, the form covers both the global day of celebration (10/02) and the full campaign period (01/02 - 28/02). The reporting process still includes an article on SID successes - this can be sent separately (to the file upload process), directly to the BIK content mailbox (as with all other platform content contributions). [Ongoing] Sharing network SID plans The online document remains available for SICs and SIC+ countries to share their SID plans with other members of the network. Please continue to update it as needed. [Ongoing] Updating SID public profile pages Thanks to SIC and SIC+ colleagues for updating SID public profile pages. A reminder that you can continue to update them with outputs and resources from your celebrations, either directly (for those with editing access) or via the EUSurvey form. Requests for minor changes can also be directed to the SID helpdesk. Please contact the SID helpdesk with any further questions regarding the 2026 campaign. | |
