Towards a better internet for kids: monitoring and evaluating progress
As the BIK+ strategy marks its third anniversary, two major milestones offer fresh insight into progress toward a safer and more inclusive digital world for children: the first full youth-centred evaluation of the strategy and the 2025 edition of the BIK Policy monitor. These provide evidence on what is effective, what needs improvement, and where urgent action is required to protect children's rights online in the EU.
CyberSafety Youth voice
The CyberSafety Youth Panel of Cyprus created a video to promote the safe and creative use of the internet among young people. Members of the panel wrote the script, performed in, and directed the video. This resource can be used by teachers and social workers in various ways.
For example, it can help initiate discussions on cyberbullying, body image, internet overuse, and digital well-being. It can also encourage young people to engage with their community by creating their own cyber safety-related content.

A new and improved Better Internet for Kids platform has just launched! Now sitting within the European Commission's Europa domain, the new platform is the online home of the BIK initiative.

Exploring misinformation for a young generation of voters: insights from the Fighting Misinformation Online Google summit
The Google summit on Fighting Misinformation online took place in Brussels on Thursday, 21 March 2024. The event served as an opportunity to reflect on emerging disinformation trends and media literacy challenges moving forward, and especially in the context of the upcoming European elections, followed by other crucial elections in the United States and India later in the year. One of the sessions was called "Building Trust - Media Literacy with and for Young Voters" and saw the involvement and participation of eight BIK Youth Ambassadors. ECPAT International Conference on child safety in Taipei
On 31 October 2023, ECPAT Taiwan hosted the ECPAT international conference on child safety. The conference covered a wide range of topics related to child safety online, from the impact of pornography to digital literacy and the role of schools and parents in fostering a safer online environment for children.
