On 16 September, Directorate General for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture, and Sport held a youth policy dialogue on cyberbullying to exchange views and hear the perspectives and priorities of young people on how the European Union can develop an action plan against cyberbullying. Participants addressed key issues and provided recommendations to help the European Union tackle cyberbullying.

The Guidelines for Action in Cases of Electronic Violence outlines a comprehensive set of procedures for schools, social workers, and parents on how to respond to suspected electronic violence, emphasising the need for immediate intervention, support for all involved, and cooperation with authorities.

The guidelines also list relevant institutions and support services, and includes a checklist for organisations to assess their readiness to handle such cases.

This law amends Article 347 of Italy’s Code of Criminal Procedure to expand the list of serious criminal offenses (including domestic violence, sexual offenses, and aggravated assault) for which law enforcement must immediately report the offense to the public prosecutor, even orally when urgency demands.

Law no.70 of May 17 2024  updates Law 71 of 2017 was established to combat cyberbullying in all its manifestations and to establish a national framework for the prevention and combating of bullying and cyberbullying. The law is focussed on protecting minors through education, school-based interventions, and coordinated national and local efforts. Law No.

The Operational guidelines for the use of SPID services by minors have been developed by the Agency for Digital Italy (AgID), Italy's  technical agency to ensure delivery of the objectives of the Italian Digital Agenda. The document  establishes operational guidelines under which minors, especially those aged 5 to 14, may access digital public services using Italy's SPID (Public Digital Identity System). The guidelines define the technical and procedural responsibilities of identity providers and schools.

The Protocol on Action in Cases of Violence among Children and Youth is an updated version of the policy which has been in effect for over 20 years. The policy clearly defines cyberbullying as well as its various forms and methods as well as the importance of reporting cyberbullying even if it has occurred outside of school and during class time. Violence between children and young people is considered to be intentionally caused physical assault in any form, or mental and emotional violence caused by repeated or permanent negative actions by one or more children.

The Spanish Advertising Self-Regulation Code (Código de Conducta Publicitaria) is a comprehensive self-regulatory framework developed by AUTOCONTROL, the Association for the Self-Regulation of Commercial Communication in Spain. The code sets out ethical standards and guidelines for responsible advertising practices across all media, including television, digital platforms, and print. It covers key areas such as truthfulness, social responsibility, and respect for human dignity, with particular emphasis on the protection of children and online safety.

Digital threats remain a pressing concern in today’s society, as confirmed by data collected by the Croatian Safer Internet Centre (SIC). In 2024 alone, calls to the Croatian helpline increased by an alarming 110 per cent. Growing issues such as sextortion, dangerous online challenges, and digital violence demand swift and effective responses. To address these, A1 Croatia and SIC Croatia marked #BetterOnline Day by presenting Take It Down - a tool designed to support underage victims of online sexual extortion.
