Cybergrooming is a dangerous form of manipulation in which an adult tries to gain a child's trust online with the aim of abusing them. In this video, prepared by the Children's Crisis Centre, you can see how dangerous it is to go on a date with someone you've been texting online and don't know in person.

This flyer on grooming is aimed at young people. It explains what the term means, how to spot grooming strategies and how to defend yourself against this form of online sexual harassment.

This workshop format, designed for working with children and young people, aims to teach participants how to protect themselves from online sexual harassment in a practical setting. They will learn about the risks of communicating online, how to recognise grooming strategies and how to adapt their online behaviour accordingly. They are also encouraged to trust their instincts and say a clear 'no' in situations that make them feel uncomfortable.

This training addresses the everyday life of young people and covers current important topics such as pornography, artificial intelligence, challenges,... Using practical case studies, participants are sensitized in a playful and interactive manner.

The students embark on Dennis' desk – a place full of exciting discoveries. Behind the various objects, different topics are hidden, which are worked on in a variety of ways. The focus is particularly on current risks in the digital world.

The study ‘Sexual Harassment Online’ clearly shows that sexual harassment on the internet is a sad part of everyday life for many children and young people in Austria. The infographic shows the key findings of the study, which was conducted in October 2024. 405 young people between the ages of 11 and 17 took part in the online survey. In addition, 70 young people from four school classes aged between 13 and 19 were interviewed in focus groups. Interviews with experts from counselling centres and academia rounded off the study.

Just as in the real world, young people will sooner or later encounter the topic of sexuality on the internet. It is important for parents to be aware of both the positive and potentially dangerous aspects of sexuality online and to talk to their children about it. This brochure is designed to help educate children about sexting, sextortion and cyber grooming, to make them aware of the dangers and to teach them how to stay safe and confident online.

The quiz “Sexting and online harassment” is aimed at young people and teaches them how to handle intimate content and harassment responsibly. Players learn about the legal framework of sexting, are educated about risks, and receive tips on what to do if a picture falls into the wrong hands. The quiz also uses case studies to show what sexual harassment is and how to protect yourself from it. Among other things, it addresses what you can do if someone asks you uncomfortable questions or requests intimate photos.

Artificial intelligence has become part of our everyday lives. This includes the increasingly authentic-looking deepfakes that are influencing the lives of children and young people. This factsheet provides an overview of the status quo of deepfakes, shows from a child protection perspective the problems that deepfakes can cause with regard to (sexualised) violence, and offers legal classifications as well as tips and support services.
