Better Internet for Kids

The Utržené sluchátko podcast is primarily aimed at children aged around 8 to 11 — school-aged kids who often experience strong emotions and family “puzzles.” However, older children, teenagers, and even parents may also find themselves reflected in the stories, because the themes explored go beyond childhood: sibling relationships, parental attention, and the feeling of not quite belonging — all of these can resonate at any age.

How can you tell when the online world is just fun and a source of information for a child, and when it becomes a way to escape? How do you talk with your child about their experiences online when communication has almost stopped?

A collection of five images in storyboard webtoon format which playfully explains – using language geared towards children and educators – how children need more interaction with the real world than screen time for healthy development. This resource can be used in social media contexts and in awareness campaigns with children and/or educators. This resource was also developed for CISlab and integrated into the 2026 awareness campaign, called "The virtual is also real".

This quiz is designed for students in 5th and 6th grade. It introduces key concepts of online safety in a fun and age-appropriate way through simple multiple-choice questions and everyday scenarios. Topics include protecting personal information, choosing strong passwords, being kind online, recognizing unsafe content, and knowing when to ask an adult for help. The quiz encourages students to think critically and build good digital habits early, making it an ideal resource for classroom discussions or internet safety lessons.

The dependence on technology could take different forms, including gaming addiction and gambling disorder. It is crucial to understand the dynamics of these phenomena in order to activate adequate prevention and intervention measures.
