Ombudsman Act
The latest amendments to the Ombudsman Act from 2018 vested in the institution the power to receive and deal with complaints and reports of violations of citizens’ rights and freedoms, not only on the part of state and municipal authorities and their administrations, or by persons entrusted with the rendering of public services, but also by private entities. In exercising this power, the Ombudsman can also make proposals and recommendations for the promotion and protection of the endangered citizens’ rights and freedoms from private entities.
“In between community and vulnerability”
In this report the connection between self-assessed mental health and media use among girls (aged 13-18 years) with neuropsychiatric disabilities is described and analysed. The report is based on data from the series Kids and Media that is Sweden’s largest survey on children and media use carried out every second year. Some of the results are that girls with neuropsychiatric disabilities aged 13–18 use social media and digital devices for a longer time per day on average compared to other young people of the same age.
Online Safety Policy and Practice Report 2022
This extensive report compiled by Professor Andy Phippen from Bournemouth University looks at what strengths and weaknesses have been seen within online safety over the past year for schools in England. Data from the 360Safe tool which covers over 13,000 schools and colleges in England has been used to compile the report. The data that has been gathered, analyses how schools across the board have implemented online safety practice and policy into their communities.
