Point de Contact annual report 2024
The reporting platform Point de Contact (part of the French Safer Internet Centre) has published its 2024 annual report on the volume of reports received and processed as well as on the trends observed in cybercrime. This report is also an opportunity to highlight the work carried out throughout the year 2024: activities, projects, developing partnerships, awareness-raising and strengthening its institutional positioning in France and abroad.
Here are some key figures:
Fight Fakes
‘Fight Fakes’ is an interactive swipe game for students from upper secondary school onwards. In various quizzes, they learn how to recognise fake news and deepfakes in a playful way and train their gut feeling for evaluating online content.
The game offers a total of 18 quizzes and covers six different topics: health, animals, geography, art, profile pictures and technology history. Each category comprises three progressive skill levels: EASY, PRO and PRO EXTREME. This makes ‘Fight Fakes’ suitable for many school subjects and for students with different skill levels.
“Think before you trust”
The educational material “Think before you trust” offers a detailed approach to understanding the reliability of both information and the people or news that young people encounter online. Its goal is to strengthen students' critical thinking and develop skills for safe and responsible internet use.

Factsheet: deepfakes and sexualised violence
Artificial intelligence has become part of our everyday lives. This includes the increasingly authentic-looking deepfakes that are influencing the lives of children and young people. This factsheet provides an overview of the status quo of deepfakes, shows from a child protection perspective the problems that deepfakes can cause with regard to (sexualised) violence, and offers legal classifications as well as tips and support services.

Misinformation and deepfakes
Misinformation has always been and remains a common phenomenon on the internet, but the emergence and widespread acceptance of social networks have turned the spread of false information into a true 'epidemic.' False news spreads at lightning speed through social networks, giving it credibility and making it believable to a significant number of people.
Further training: Focus on safety: from AI basics to practical application
Participants receive a comprehensive overview of the development of artificial intelligence, learn how it is integrated into a wide range of tools and applications and have a discussion with other participants about AI in schools, the associated risks for children and young people and how to deal with them. During the further training, participants will have the opportunity to actively work with AI tools and experience their functions first-hand.
