deSHAME research Croatia

The purpose of the research is to deepen knowledge about the risky behaviours of high school students in the online environment and to find out how much they are exposed to harmful content and sexual harassment in the online environment.


The material contains a presentation with the preliminary results of the deSHAME research in Croatia in English. 2016 high school students from all over Croatia participated in the research.

“Can beauty ideals online harm my child?”

The issue of beauty ideals online and their impact on children and young people is complex. Research shows that exposure to beauty and body ideals on social media can lead to a poorer body image—to varying degrees. Research also shows that children (age 10-18) that spend a lot of time on social media tend to be more unhappy with their bodies and suffer from eating disorders to a greater extent than others in their age. Insafe delegation kicks off IGF 2023 with Day 0 event on youth participation

This year’s Internet Governance Forum (IGF), the 18th annual edition, is hosted by the Government of Japan in Kyoto from 8-12 October 2023 under the Forum's overarching theme: The internet we want - empowering all people. The Insafe network of Safer Internet Centres in Europe contributed with a Day 0 event focusing on youth empowerment and participation, including children and young people from vulnerable backgrounds.
