In 2025, EU co funded hotlines received over 4.5 million reports of potentially illegal online content, highlighting both the scale of online harms reported by the public and the essential role hotlines play in identifying and addressing them.
The Insafe and INHOPE networks meet to facilitate sharing of good practices at joint training meeting
Today and tomorrow, the Insafe and INHOPE networks are meeting in Jurmala, Latvia, to explore areas of common ground and opportunities for closer working between helplines, hotlines, and awareness centres in a two-day joint training meeting. It is also an opportunity to discuss a range of online safety issues, including the latest developments in AI and AI companions/chatbots, deepnudes, gamification in educational work, as well as the latest updates about the Digital Services Act (DSA) and trusted flaggers.
"Toxic: the board game" is now available in multiple EU languages!
The resource "Toxic: the board game" won the March 2025 Insafe-INHOPE Training meeting resource competition. The winning Norwegian Safer Internet Centre was awarded a grant to adapt the resource for the benefit of the Insafe network.

INHOPE hotlines received 345,812 reports during the first quarter of 2026, continuing their work to assess, verify, and facilitate the removal of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) online.

On the occasion of Safe Internet Day 2023, the Serbian Safer Internet Centre (SIC) organised the conference “Safer Internet Day 2023 – Together for a better internet” in the Palace of Serbia, Belgrade. The Minister of Information and Telecommunications, the Minister of Education, and the Director of UNICEF Serbia officially opened the conference.
Greece raised awareness for a better internet on #SID2023

Survey results on educators for cyberbullying, online grooming and sextortion among students
The Greek Safer Internet Centre conducted a survey on 4,400 educators from all educational levels, in cooperation with the Panhellenic School Network. The survey was held from December 2022 till January 2023 via anonymous questionnaires.

ON-LINE ZOO, a new series of short stories about online safety
The resource catalogue of the CZ.NIC association has recently been expanded with the publication of a new digital series of short stories, ON-LINE ZOO - Poems. This collection of playful poems was created as an extension of the book ON-LINE ZOO, originally created by the Austrian Safer Internet Centre and translated into Czech, which introduces children of pre-school and earlier school grades to the most common risks associated with the use of the internet. The original texts were turned into poems by Libor Manda, project manager of the Czech Safer Internet Centre.
