Better Internet for Kids

The Act on Products and Market Surveillance establishes rules for the control and sanctions related to product safety in Denmark. The main objective is to ensure that products on the market are safe for people, pets, property, and the environment. The law specifically addresses online sales, including those from platforms outside the EU, and allows for the blocking of access to websites that repeatedly sell dangerous products. The Danish Safety Technology Authority (Sikkerhedsstyrelsen) is the main enforcement authority.

The law is a measure to implement the European Union's Digital Services Act (DSA) in Greece. It officially designates the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT) as the national Digital Services Coordinator.  The law appoints the EETT and other competent authorities, such as the National Council for Radio and Television (NCRTV) and the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA), to supervise intermediary service providers.

The "Guidelines – Age Classification of Audiovisual Programmes" by Medietilsynet (Norwegian Media Authority) outline the process for classifying audiovisual programmes to protect minors from harmful content. Mandated by the Audiovisual Programme Act, all programmes made available to the general public, with specific exemptions, require an age limit. The assessment considers a programme's assumed impact on various age groups, evaluating its expression (e.g., mood, characters) and content (e.g., violence, sexuality, difficult themes).

The Straffeloven is Norway's comprehensive national criminal law framework, outlining definitions of criminal offenses and stipulating corresponding penalties.
Enacted in 2005, it replaced the previous 1902 code and includes both general provisions on criminal responsibility and substantive rules covering corporate liability through to severe crimes like genocide and terrorism.

This Action Plan is Ireland’s second national-level blueprint to embed the voices of children and young people in decision-making processes—extending beyond the first National Strategy (2015–2020). Its goal is to embed youth participation in policy, education, health, legal systems, and community life by establishing structured mechanisms (like Hub na nÓg, Comhairle na nÓg) and engaging children up to age 24 in meaningful consultation and influence.

Section 50 of the Protection of the Rights of the Child Law includes: “(1) It is prohibited to show, sell, give as a gift, rent or promote to a child toys and video recordings, computer games, newspapers, magazines and other types of publications, in which cruel behaviour, violence, erotica and pornography are promoted and which pose a threat to the psychological development of a child.

This report was developed by a multidisciplinary group of 50 independent experts to document the best practices, risks, and dangers that children and adolescents face online. The report addresses key issues such as the impact of the digital environment on mental and physical health, the risks of consuming inappropriate content like pornography, and the importance of education and family involvement. It also highlights the role of digital literacy and proposes a roadmap of measures for public administrations to ensure the integral development of youth and children.

The Spanish Digital Charter of Rights is an innovative framework that defines how citizens' rights should be protected in the digital environment. Created as a reference to guide future policies and legislation, this charter is non-binding but represents Spain's commitment to a digital society that prioritizes the dignity, privacy, and security of individuals in all aspects of online life.

This law Slovenia transposes the AVMSD 2018/1808 with Law 4156. on Amendments and Additions to the Law on Audiovisual Media Services (ZAvMS-B) that entered into force on 12 January 2022.  The Slovenian AVMS Act (Art. 38b) regulates protection of minors from programmes, user-generated videos and audiovisual commercial communications which may impair their physical, mental or moral development, on VSPs.  AKOS, Slovenia's national regulatory authority for the media, is the responsible implementing agency. AKOS is also Slovenia's Digital Services Coordinator.

The "Guidelines for Harmonised Use of IT Solutions in Education" aim to ensure compliance with personal data protection when using IT solutions in the education sector. Issued by the Information Commissioner, these guidelines address numerous questions arising from the increased use of communication IT in schools, particularly during the COVID-19 crisis, covering activities like remote learning, video conferencing, and the sharing of educational materials.
